A woman with curly dark hair, glasses, and earrings sitting outdoors on a wooden chair in front of a weathered wooden fence. She is wearing a black and white embroidered outfit, black boots, and has one leg crossed over the other. There are potted plants nearby, including a large leafy plant with hanging lantern decorations, and yellow flowers on the ground.

About Me:

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) that works with young adults and adults. I have been working as a psychotherapist since 2017. I view therapy as a place where we can be gently curious about what is maintaining certain patterns and collaborate together to better understand how you can move forward towards the change you desire. Along with depth work that is trauma-informed, I also acknowledge the importance that coping skills provide and bring in my expertise in CBT and DBT to help you build tools to navigate life.

As a first-generation Mexican American, I bring a personal understanding of what it means to hold multiple identities and navigate different worlds. In my practice, I honor the whole you, including your culture, family, and community. I acknowledge the systems that shape your experience, so that therapy feels respectful, safe, and truly your own. You are the expert on your own experience, and my role is to learn from you and walk alongside you.

Therapy with me is collaborative, warm, and structured around your goals. I will at times bring in educational material that is relevant to our work and is geared towards increasing insight.

In regards to my experience, I graduated from Northern Illinois University with a double major in Psychology and Nutrition. I received my MA in Counseling from The Family Institute at Northwestern University. As a psychotherapist I have worked in a variety of settings, such as community mental health, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs, and group practice. I am also EMDR certified and use it to complement talk therapy when necessary.

In my free time, I love to go hiking, traveling, learning about different cultures, exploring cafes, and playing board games. Some hikes I have enjoyed involved hiking Fansipan Mountain in Vietnam and Mount Hallasan in Jeju Island.

If you are wondering whether we might be a good fit, I would love to talk. Feel free to reach out for a free 15 minute consultation, with no pressure and no commitment.
